Strike for a Scholar

For the first time, UPAA-NL held a sport event—Strike for a Scholar, an Open Bowling Tournament to benefit University of the Philippines students affected by typhoon Haiyan. More than 100 eager bowlers— old and young, professionals, amateurs and beginners alike—joined the afternoon of bowling. From noontime until 4 PM, everyone enjoyed the high-tech bowling lanes of Bowling Scheveningen at Gevers Deynootweg in The Hague. Special awards were given to the individuals and teams with the highest scores as well as to the ones who exerted their “best efforts”. Philippine goods, donated by Toko4All and Manila Trading, were given to the guests.
